Infants

Currently we have 3 Infants Rooms:

Infant 1: 6 weeks to 6 months
Infant 2: 6 months to 12 months
Infant 3: 12 months to 18 months

According to NYS Office of Children and Family Services Infant ratio's are 1:4, every classroom has a certified Head Teacher and Assistant Teacher. All staff have a fingerprint and background check prior to being employed with OADCC.

Each infant has their own crib and cubby. OADCC provides the crib sheets, bibs and receiving blankets. We also provide a Parents Choice formula for your infant if you prefer. A daily sheet is sent home with your infant recordings of the formula, food, nap time, diaper changing and play that occurred

A typical day in our Infant classrooms, are filled with love and exploration. We understand the vital importance of the bond between the caregiver and the infant. This bond is established from day one, when the parent and child come to "shadow/visit" the center and meet the staff.

We realize that the most important accomplishment in the first months of life is to develop a secure attachment with primary caregivers. This not only establishes a feeling of security, but also establishes a permanent internalized sense of self. We are more than confident when you leave your child in our care you will feel this sense of security as well as your child. Your child will be comforted, rocked/held, fed, changed, and engaged with and much more by a number of trained, qualified staff that are certified by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services through develop a secure attachment with primary caregivers. Each child's individual eating and sleeping schedule will be respected. Understanding that individual infant development varies widely, your child's development will be charted on an objective developmental scale, to be assured that your child's development is on track.

We feel that it is an honor to be entrusted with care of your child. It is also a great responsibility which we take very seriously. That is why our teachers have training in First-Aid, CPR, Medicine Administration (select) and Infant development through the Creative Curriculum Teaching Strategies.
